Township Clean-up Days

Township cleanup days are 2-day events hosted by each of Brown Counties 16 townships in the spring and early summer and are supported by the BCSWA where Brown County residents can bring materials that are trash but too big for their cans and regular pick up. This can be nearly any material except freon-bearing appliances, tires, paint, oil, household chemicals, or yard waste. Excellent tool for Spring cleaning.

Examples of Accepted Materials

  • Furniture

  • Scrap Lumber or treated wood

  • Mattresses

  • Plastic Totes

  • General Trash

  • Styrofoam

  • Broken or old Toys

  • Daipers

  • ​Old clothing

  • Plastic Films ( trash bags or Postage Packaging)

Unacceptable Items at Township Cleanups

  • NO Freon-bearing Appliances (Refrigerators, Freezers, Air Conditioners)

  • NO Tires

  • NO Paint

  • NO Chemicals (Pesticides, Herbicides, Fertilizers, etc.)

  • NO Oils (Motor, Automotive, etc.)

  • NO Yard Waste (Brush, Branches, Root Balls, etc.)
