About Brown County Solid Waste Authority
Purpose - The Brown County Solid Waste Authority (BCSWA) is responsible for planning how solid waste and recycling are managed in Brown County, Ohio. Each county in Ohio is required by Ohio EPA to be in a solid waste management district, and to implement a plan to reduce reliance on landfills and meet recycling goals.

Board - The BCSWA Board is composed of 9 members, 3 of which are the Brown County Commissioners. The Board meets on the 2nd Thursday of every month, at 8am. Meetings are open to the public and are held at the office of the Brown County Commissioners, located at 800 Mt. Orab Pike, Georgetown.

Funding - Funding to implement the BCSWA plan comes from a tipping fee on all waste disposed at the Rumpke Landfill in Brown County.
